Meet 9-year-old Kari! She came into our care in May after her owners fell ill. Kari is great with people of all ages, including kids, and may do well with cats after a slow introduction. She enjoys spending time outdoors, going to dog-friendly shops, and curling up for cozy movie nights. Kari does have a manageable condition called canine herpesvirus. It’s an infectious disease that can cause mild upper respiratory symptoms during flare-ups, typically triggered by stress, but most of the time it stays dormant. Because it’s contagious to other dogs, Kari will need to be the only dog in her new home. The good news is that dogs with this virus can still live long, happy lives! She’s currently relaxing in a loving foster home, but she’s ready to meet you. If you’d like to schedule a meet-and-greet, give our adoption center a call at 321-567-3615.
